Redefining British History Through Modern Geometric Glitch Art

Welcome to my UkCore collection—a bold visual revolution where I transform the deep, dramatic, and often bizarre histories of the United Kingdom's iconic landmarks into a futuristic, maximalist experience. By blending my signature digital glitch distortion, structured geometric grids, and highly symmetrical kaleidoscope layouts with rich tactile textures, I completely reinvent the UK's most famous monuments. Every piece in this collection is a physical testament to the beautiful friction between centuries of stone-carved heritage and modern digital defiance.

​Stonehenge: Symmetrical Solstices & Prehistoric Mandalas

The intricate, circular geometry of my kaleidoscope designs draws inspiration from the ancient, sacred symmetry of Stonehenge on the Salisbury plain, where a prehistoric circle of standing stones has stood for over 4,500 years. Built between 3000 and 2000 BC, the massive sarsen and bluestones—some weighing 25 tons and transported from Wales, over 150 miles away—align perfectly with the summer and winter solstices. Mirroring this ancient astronomical alignment, my radial kaleidoscope patterns map these legendary monoliths into perfectly balanced, repetitive geometric orbits, capturing the celestial calculations of the early Britons in a highly structured, modern layout.

​Edinburgh Castle: Volcanic Fortresses & Spyhole Grids

In my textured cityscapes, the gritty, layered depth mimics the weathered stone of Edinburgh Castle—Scotland's legendary fortress perched high atop Castle Rock, a 350-million-year-old extinct volcano. This landmark holds some of the UK's darkest and most fascinating secrets:

​The Laird's Lugs (The Lord's Ears): High above the fireplace in the Great Hall, a tiny, barred window was built so King James IV could secretly eavesdrop on meetings taking place below. This spyhole was so effective that when Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev visited the castle in 1984, the KGB insisted the hole be bricked over for national security!

​The Witch Trials: During the 16th century, the castle grounds became the site of intense witch hunts, where over 300 women were tortured and burned at the stake, including the noblewoman Euphane MacCalzean, accused of trying to sink the King's ship with a storm.

The dark, mysterious atmosphere of these histories is perfectly represented through the heavy, textured layers and structured grids of my architectural prints.

​Big Ben: Exploding Gears & Cracked Bells

The fractured lines and digital glitch partitions in my artwork are a direct tribute to the chaotic mechanical history of Big Ben. Officially named the Elizabeth Tower, the famous nickname actually refers to the massive, 13.7-tonne "Great Bell" inside. During testing in 1857, the first bell developed a massive 1.2-meter crack. The second bell also fractured in 1859 and had to be turned 90 degrees to be struck by a lighter hammer. Most bizarre of all, in 1976, a catastrophic mechanical failure caused the clock weights to spiral out of control, causing the entire mechanism to literally explode and silencing the chimes for nearly nine months. My designs translate this mechanical collapse into bold, shattered geometric lines and intentional digital glitches.

​Tower Bridge: Gothic Grids & A Flying Double-Decker Bus

The Gothic steel arches, twin towers, and repeating vertical lines of Tower Bridge (completed in 1894 after eight years of intense Victorian engineering) inspired my structured architectural grids and quad-split mirrored layouts. Tower Bridge is also home to incredible urban legends: in 1952, a double-decker bus was caught on the bridge as it unexpectedly began to open. Refusing to halt, the brave driver accelerated and jumped a 3-foot gap to safety, earning a £10 reward for his quick thinking! My artwork mirrors this high-energy, gravity-defying leap using dynamic geometric angles and perfectly aligned, mirrored partitions.
